Civil War

Welcome to the Civil War section of my Homepage.

The central issue in American history has been the racial divide. One way of describing the role of race in American history is to use the metaphor of an earthquake. It can be said that the issue of race was a tremor from 1619 to 1861; then there was a Great Earthquake, the Civil War from 1861-to-1865; and everything thereafter has been aftershocks, from 1865 to the present.
